A central concept of this renovation of a duplex apartment in Jardim Paulistano was to accommodate on the upper floor its principal point of access and the entirety of its living areas. These internal environments are then freely integrated into a terrace with a generous view over this part of the city.
On the lower floor, two bedrooms – one suite – adjoin a television room and an office, these last two are connected by a bench running the length of the apartment. The laundry and service entrance are also located on this level.
Highlights of the various new elements introduced during the project include a 9m beam installed as a single continuous piece on the terrace framing the view of the city. Alongside this feature is an alternating-tread staircase in the style of Santos Dumont, executed in folded steel and suspended from the upper floor.
